Biography
Dr. Rohith Mittapally is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to joining the faculty at NC State, he was a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Graduate Students
William Bodnar
Will graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering in May 2025, before joining our group as a PhD student. His research interests include heat transfer processes, nanoscale thermal dissipation, and energy transfer and management.
In addition to his academic interests, Will is a founding member of the NC State Experimental Nanosatellite Club, where he is currently working on the development of the CubeSat CLEOSATRA, his senior design project for which he served as thermal control lead. Will enjoys nature, cooking, and is an avid supporter of Liverpool FC
